DEXSTA Federal Credit Union, Wilmington Delaware. Saturday August 19 DEXSTA participated in its sixth year at the Middletown Olde-Tyme Peach Festival. The Festival ran from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm with the annual parade kicking off at 8:45 am. The parade featured high school bands, the local fire company, politicians, dance groups and all kinds of civic organizations from the surrounding area.
Businesses and craft vendors from all over Delaware had booths at the event to feature their products and services. DEXSTA was happy to see long time members and meet new members during the day. We featured our credit card and back to school loan promotions. Team members staffed the booth all day long and enjoyed seeing all of the community members having a good time.
Each year, the peach festival offers food vendors, booths with crafts and vendors, exhibits and demonstrations, as well as emergency vehicles on display at the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown. The festival serves as the main fundraiser for the Middletown Historical Society. Volunteers from the Middletown High School Band Boosters were at Main and Broad streets selling peaches and festival T-shirts to raise money for the historical society.
The parade, which typically has 50-60 groups, is one of the highlights of the annual Middletown OldeTyme Peach Festival, now in its 24th year. The festival has continued to grow right along with Middletown’s population and draws more than 25,000 people annually.
